Ruth J. Simmons Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice

Slavery and Legacy Walking Tour

The Slavery & Legacy Tours examine the history behind Brown University, the State of Rhode Island and their roles in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. The tours help students (K-12 + college) as well as adult groups think critically about the University and state histories.

The Ruth J. Simmons Center for the Study of Slavery & Justice is pleased to lead its Slavery & Legacy Walking Tours for campus and community groups. We ask that all requests are made at least two weeks in advance in order for our team to properly manage the logistics.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you on a tour soon!
